Terms and Conditions
By accepting the Terms and Conditions of THE GRADUATION PLACE you acknowledge that you have inspected the regalia and are satisfied with the condition that the regalia is in.
THE GRADUATION PLACE agrees to lease the property described in any communication, website/contract to the HIRER on the following terms and conditions.
The HIRER acknowledges that in any case of default of these terms and conditions THE GRADUATION PLACE may require the services of a debt collection agency at the Hirer’s cost.
The property that the HIRER takes possession of, as detailed in any communication, website/contract is owned by THE GRADUATION PLACE.
The HIRER has examined the property and acknowledges that the property is received in good condition and is safe and suitable for its intended use.
THE GRADUATION PLACE will not be liable in any way in respect of any claim made against the HIRER for any damage caused by the Hirer’s use of the property.
THE GRADUATION PLACE will not be liable to the HIRER or any third party for any damage or loss resulting from any defect, failure, or breakdown in the property from any cause. Such cause presumes an absence of any negligence on the part of THE GRADUATION PLACE.
The HIRER agrees to return the property to THE GRADUATION PLACE in the same condition as received, fair wear and tear accepted, on the return date detailed in any communication, website/contract. Unless any communication, website/contract is amended to state otherwise, the HIRER will return the property to THE GRADUATION PLACE at its premises noted in any communication, website/contract. THE GRADUATION PLACE reserves the right to demand immediate return of the property on any breach of these terms and conditions. THE GRADUATION PLACE reserves the right to charge additional hire time if the property is not returned by the specified date. The HIRER agrees not to use the property in violation of any law, statue or regulation. The laws of New Zealand apply.
If the property is retained beyond the return date, without the express written permission of THE GRADUATION PLACE, the HIRER renders him or herself liable to arrest for conversion or theft. THE GRADUATION PLACE reserves the right to sue for the breach of the bailment conditions set out in any communication, website/contract.
The HIRER agrees to pay THE GRADUATION PLACE the fee, and a bond if that applies, by the due date set out in any communication, website/contract.
The HIRER agrees that he or she will retain possession and control of the property throughout the period of hire.
The HIRER agrees that he or she is liable to THE GRADUATION PLACE for any loss of property, or part of the property, and may be required to meet the replacement cost of the property.
THE GRADUATION PLACE reserves the right to retain a cancellation fee on any cancelled bookings.
We are unable to refund any donations made to the KATE EDGER FOUNDATION.
We reserve the right to alter and/or add to our hire terms and conditions as required. Any amendments to our terms and conditions will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately upon the posting of those terms and conditions on our website. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that they are aware of the latest terms and conditions and that hire of any items is an acknowledgement by the hirer of our terms and conditions as amended.
The terms and conditions on this website are the terms on which THE GRADUATION PLACE offers the hire of regalia. In hiring any items of regalia, the hirer accepts these terms and conditions. If the hirer does not accept these terms and conditions they must not proceed with the hire.
Returns Policy, Cancellations, Disputes and Purchase of Regalia and Loss or Damage
Returns
You must return regalia within the times stated in your order confirmation email, website or as agreed by TGP. Failure to do so will incur penalty fees.
Returns and Late Fees
You agree to return all regalia on time and in good condition, otherwise you agree that you will be charged the following fees:
1. Late fees at the original hire rate per every day late; and/or
2. Damage fees at the cost of repairing the item; and/or
3. Replacement fees at the cost of replacing the item.
The late fees for any items not returned at the times stated on your invoice will be forwarded to a debt collection agency seven days after the final reminder being sent to you.
You agree that if any charges are passed on to a Debt collection agency you will be liable for their fees and recovery costs.
Cancellations and charges
You agree to a admin charge of $10.00 for a cancelled order.
You agree that if you cancel your booking, it will be done at least one week before your ceremony, otherwise you will not be refunded your payment.
Dispute
Where a dispute arises out of the hire and/or return of regalia, you agree to advise THE GRADUATION PLACE of this dispute within seven days of it occurring. If the parties are unable to resolve the dispute, you agree that THE GRADUATION PLACE may refer this dispute to the Disputes Tribunal for resolution.
Purchase of Regalia
All payments for regalia are completely non-refundable upon purchase.
Loss or Damage
Whilst TGP will use its best efforts to ensure that the regalia it hires will not cause loss or damage to the hirer’s clothing, TGP is not liable for any loss or damage to the hirer’s clothing of any kind, whether arising directly or indirectly out of the hireage of the regalia.
Ordering and Paying
SHIPPING – New Regalia Purchased
Once payment is received and confirmed, your order will be picked, packed and labelled and the courier will collect your parcel for delivery.
REGALIA HIRE
Once payment is received and confirmed, your order is reserved. Orders are dispatched 1-3 weeks prior to the graduation ceremony. For pick-up, please refer to your order confirmation email for collection times. All hire stock must be collected during notified periods unless agreed otherwise.
Security Deposit
A security deposit applies to all orders for casual hire, legal and some institute orders. Your security deposit will be fully refunded on return of your regalia at the appointed time, date and place and in good condition.
Deliveries:
Couriers take 1-2 days in New Zealand to deliver to major metropolitan areas. However, service time may vary between 1 and 10 days.
Please ensure you give us an address where someone will be available to sign for and receive your parcel during weekdays.
We do not deliver items throughout the weekends due to delays in courier deliveries.
Shipping Information - Overview
All parcels are shipped by courier.
Please note that during peak seasonal dates, delivery time frames are longer (particularly the November/December Christmas period).

Please note: Payments can take up to 3-5 normal working days to process. You will receive an email confirming payment as soon as possible.
Please choose your purchase carefully as we do not provide a refund on any purchased regalia if you change your mind. Exchanges must be returned and exchanged within 10 days of the original purchase date. Credit will be issued if an exchange in size or colour cannot be made due to stock levels.
If the goods are faulty, we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act to provide a remedy. All faulty goods must be sent back to Head office for assessment before exchanges, credit notes or refunds are issued.
All other return postage is at the customer’s expense.
The original receipt must be provided for ANY returned garments as proof of purchase.

Our flat-rate shipping & handling fee is:
$10.00 for deliveries within Auckland ($17.00 for delivery and return within Auckland)
$15.00 for deliveries anywhere else in the North Island ($30 for delivery and return in the North Island)
$32.50 for deliveries to the South Island or Waiheke Island ($65.00 for delivery and return in South Island or Waiheke Island)
Customers please note: Additional postage charges may apply for more than 1 set of regalia per order.
Stock Control
Colour on the Internet
Every effort has been made to ensure the product colours shown on the website are as close as possible to the actual colours, however, different computer screens may show slight variations. If you are unsure about the colour of any garment, please enquire before purchasing.
Force Majeure
Should any case beyond the control of THE GRADUATION PLACE, but not limited to, any order of government or other authority, strike, lockout, labour dispute, delays in transit, difficulty in procuring components, embargo, accident, emergency, act of God, or other contingency, interfere with the delivery by THE GRADUATION PLACE, or with the performance by THE GRADUATION PLACE of any of its obligation under these Terms, THE GRADUATION PLACE shall be entitled at its sole discretion to suspend its performance of, any such obligation or to cancel and shall not be liable to the Buyer in any respect.
Security & Privacy
Our DPS security system encodes your credit card and contact details to ensure its safe transfer.
All payments are processed via a secure payment gateway operated by ANZ.
We understand and respect our customers need for privacy. Therefore you can be assured that we will not sell your name to any third parties. It is necessary for us to obtain your contact information in case we need to contact you regarding your hire or purchase. To notify you about our upcoming promotions we may also contact you via e-mail. You will be given the opportunity to decide to join/be removed from the list. If you wish to have your name removed from our e-mail distribution list you may unsubscribe at any time.
